Characteristics – applications: 

  • E7018 – VD is the electrode under the group of low hydrogen sheath (iron powder supplemented). Weld metal has a low hydrogen content. Therefore, the welded joints are not cracked.  They have high ductility and endure pressure at – 200 Welding slags are easily blistered and cleaned without slag bearing and splashing and explosion.
  • Suitable for welding low-carbon steel under 490 ~550 Mpa load such as ship or boat’s structures, delivery pipe, drilling rig structures, etc.
  • Metal is quickly condense, so it is easy to weld at all positions.

Instructions for use:

  • Clean oil, grease and dust before welding
  • Dry the electrode at 300 ~350 0 C for 30 ~60 minutes before welding
  • Process welding edges as regulated
  • Select appropriate welding current to avoid possible defects
  • Lining weld beads should use a Ø3.2 electrode.
  • Use AC or DC± power
